If you haven’t heard of I Sanctuary ( International Sanctuary ), well let me tell you a bit about this amazing organization. I recently heard of them after my sister bought me a necklace from their site. Not only do I LOVE the necklace, I love their stories and I love what they are going after and the meaning behind this organization. Each necklace and piece of jewelry is handmade by a survivor of human traffiking.
“People are trafficked. Victims are rescued. Then what? International Sanctuary ends the cycle of human trafficking through providing self-sufficiency options to survivors. When a young woman walks through the door at International Sanctuary, the label of “trafficked victim” is removed and she is immediately treated as an individual. The environment is positive and upbeat, giving her the opportunity to gain dignity and confidence. ”
“On a daily basis, iSanctuary is meeting the needs of survivors who have been rescued from commercial sexual exploitation. iSanctuary provides medical assistance, education, skills training, life skills, leadership opportunities, employment and financial stability to survivors of human trafficking.”
There is so much about this topic, I could go on and on. Reading and educating yourself about human trafficking, and building awareness is a really good place to start. I love when people burn with passion and actually DO something… and not just talk about it. If you are interested in learning more about ISanctuary and how you can help go here. You can host an event, buy a piece of jewelry, donate to their cause and spread the word.
