This yummy Strawberry Apple { green } smoothie is one of Lyla’s favorites. It only takes a few minutes to make .. {…and drink } and full of nutrients. These certain fruits are high in vitamin C and simply irresistible.
1 Cup low-fat Vanilla yogurt
1 Cup Apple juice
1 Banana ( sliced )
1/2 green apple
8-12 frozen strawberries ( Prep the night before )
1/2 cup – 1 Cup Organic Baby Spinach
1/2 teaspoon of Chia Seeds ( I used this: Nutiva Organic Chia Seeds, 12-Ounce Bag )
( You can find other brands at Target)
-Combine the yogurt and Apple Juice in a blender ( I am currently use the Nutri Bullet )
– Then add the strawberries, banana, 1/2 apple, spinach and chia seeds. *Using frozen strawberries will make your smoothie icy and cold.
Of Course the Spinach and Chia Seeds are optional, and they don’t change the taste too much but both ingredients have incredible amounts of nutrition, so I highly recommend adding them to your smoothie.
— > Did you know Chia seed health benefits include one of the richest plant-based sources of Omega-3 fatty acids, they are an excellent source of fiber, rich in antioxidants, helps you feel fuller longer, gluten free, helps regulate insulin levels, can be digested whole (unlike flaxseed), one serving has 18% RDA of daily calcium, good source of protein, and many more!
Enjoy!
This sounds wonderful! Lyla is a beautiful little model and showcses the smoothie prefectly. Stopping by from Share Your Stuff Tuesday.
